Card Price Predictor
Have you ever wondered what that upcoming chase card will actually be worth once the dust settles? We’ve built a data-driven prediction model that cuts through the hype and uses historical market math to estimate the value of modern Pokémon TCG chase cards. By balancing the mathematical odds of pulling a card (Supply) with the community's hunger for it (Demand), this calculator helps us spot which cards might be overvalued, and which are flying under the radar.
How to Use the Calculator
We’ve supercharged this tool to help you cut through the market noise and spot exactly why certain cards are soaring (or tanking). By combining historical pull rates, artist data, and real-time market behavior like the "FOMO Tax," this calculator gives you a highly accurate estimate of a card's true value.
Here is how to set up your dream scenario and get the best results:
Step 1: Choose the Rarity Tier. Start by clicking the appropriate rarity bubble at the top. This tells the algorithm what baseline math to use:
-
Standard / Bulk ex: For regular Holos, basic ex/V cards, and standard pulls.
-
Illustration Rare / FA: For standard IRs, Trainer Galleries, and regular Full Arts.
-
Top Chase / SIR: For the heavy hitters—Special Illustration Rares, Alternate Arts, and highly sought-after Gold cards.
Step 2: Track the FOMO (Release Window) Card prices are wildly different on release weekend versus six months later. Select how new the set is to apply the "FOMO Tax." The calculator will automatically generate a Market Verdict Badge, letting you know if it's safe to buy or if you should wait for the hype to die down!
Step 3: Apply the "Waifu Tax" (If Applicable). If you are calculating the price of a Full Art Trainer (like Lillie, Miriam, or Carmine), check this box! It applies a historical premium to the card. Pro-Tip: When using this, use the "Character Popularity" slider to rank how popular the Trainer is instead of a Pokémon.
Step 4: Lock in the Baselines. Use the built-in dropdown menus to instantly snap the sliders to the correct historical scores:
-
Pull Rate Difficulty: Select the set the card belongs to.
-
Character Popularity: Search our massive Top 500 Pokémon list.
-
Artist Baseline: Select from the Top 100 TCG Artists to set the floor for the artwork's value.
-
Mainstream Appeal: Select the real-world scenario that best fits the Pokémon (e.g., Global Icon vs. Obscure Filler).
Step 5: Gauge the Specific Hype. The Specific Artwork & Hype slider is your manual wildcard. Even a top artist can have a miss, and an unknown artist can create a masterpiece. Adjust this slider manually to reflect the specific illustration quality and current community demand.
Step 6: Check the Grading Potential. Curious about the ceiling? Flip the Show Estimated PSA 10 Value switch at the bottom to see what a pristine, gem-mint slab might fetch based on conservative historical multipliers.
Important Notes & Legal Disclaimer
A Note on the PSA 10 Multiplier: The grading toggle applies a conservative 3.5x multiplier to the raw value, which aligns with historical averages for modern chase cards. However, grading multipliers fluctuate wildly based on population reports, print quality, and specific set dynamics. A PSA 10 of a bulk card might jump 20x in value, while an incredibly common SIR might only jump 2x. Use this as a fun estimate of the ceiling, not a guaranteed return.
